María José San Román, Spain’s ambassador of the Mediterranean diet, has promoted Spanish gastronomy since she began her career in 1975. Her flagship restaurant, Monastrell, winner of a Michelin star, 2 Repsol Suns and a Sustainable Sun, is a benchmark in haute cuisine in our country. As CEO of the María José San Román Group, she leads an example of conscious and sustainable food in the Valencian region. Awarded the Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts, María José also promotes equity in the industry at an international level as president of the Association of Women in Gastronomy.
