Owner of the Fish Shop La Barqueta, Les Corts Market; Barcelona, Spain

Montse Millan is 51 years old and has been in the trade since she was 14 years old in her family business. She is now the owner of La Barqueta, a fishmonger’s shop located in the Mercado de les Corts with 98% local product, she is a member of the board of the Fishmongers Guild on the sustainability commission.

The guild promotes a more responsible and sustainable consume, and promotes the consumption of less commercialized fish, which are cheaper and reach all households. In the same way, they work with local fishermen.
